A few months ago I recorded in one night two frescoes by Giovanni da Módena in the cathedral San Petronio in Bologna (Bolonia), Italy.
The recording was made by myself and Gabriel Scarpa for Factum Arte.
We used two Clauss Panoramic robot heads, one for a Canon 7D coupled with a 600mm lens and the other for an Elinchrom 1/1000 s flash head.
I processed the files at 400dpi 1/1 in PTGui Pro resulting in files of approximately 80000×90000 pixels so 7 Gigapixels, at 16 bits.

This panorama was shot handheld in May 2012 from a terrasse in the center of Bologna, Italia. I walked around the terrasse to get all this so there are quite a few stitching impossibilities and large parallax errors. The Two Towers can be seen in the background as well as a group of small churches, Santo Stefano, copies of Jerusalem temples, across the square.
