3 short sequences from the animation ‘Carceri d’Invenzione’ shown currently at The Wall exhibition in Bologna at #palazzobelloni #thewallbologna. I used #cameramapping #VFX for this #3Danimation and texture remapping to allow camera movement and build this journey through the #architecture of #giovannibattistapiranesi #carceridinvenzione. Like being in the head of #piranesi. Currently working on VR worlds with 2 first attempts shown in the same exhibition.

The tomb was recorded in 2009 by Piers Wardle and Gregoire Dupond (photographic data), Pedro Miro (3D data) and Naoko Fukumaru and Adam Lowe (color references), and this data can be viewed here. The making of the replica involved all staff at Factum Arte.
We are all thrilled that the replica could finally be installed in the location and conditions that were thought out by Adam Lowe since the beginning of the project.
Visit Luxor and when you do don’t forget to visit the replica.
The exhibition Piranesi, Rome, and the Arts of Design will open in San Diego, California, on March 30th 2013, at The San Diego Museum of Art. The exhibition was previously shown at Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venezia, and Caixa Forum in Madrid and Barcelona.
It contains numerous objects designed by Piranesi and made by Factum Arte.
And also a short animation film made by myself in 2010 for Factum Arte and Cini: Piranesi, Carceri d’Invenzione (Vimeo link, watch the video also below in this post).
Photographs by Gabriele Basilico, shown with the corresponding views of Rome by Piranesi, complete the materials made specifically for the exhibition.
About 250 prints of Piranesi from the Fondazione Cini are on display.
The exhibition will be held until July 7th.
On March 29th, 6pm at the James S. Copley Auditorium, Adam Lowe, one of the leading innovators in the field of digital mediation and director and founder of Factum Arte, will discuss his personal reflections and the evolution of Piranesi, Rome, and the Arts of Design.
